TWISTEP Multi-Use Hitch Receiver Mount Step-Up

TWISTEP™ is an instant, multi-use stair step that provides a sturdy platform to help load your dogs, sport gear and other items on to your SUV. This innovative product attaches to most hitch receivers and stores under the bumper when not in use.

With a 20" X 16" steel platform, TWISTEP™ is stable and durable, and can hold up to 500 pounds when using a Class III hitch - 2" receiver (or 300 pounds when using a Class II hitch - 11/4" receiver).

TWISTEP offers several advantages over pet ramps. It is much quicker to use, especially once attached to the hitch receiver. This makes it well suited to frequent or long trips with your dog - multiple stops and breaks are easy - just twist the step out and back in when finished. It also eliminates the need for storage space for a ramp inside the vehicle, a feature much appreciated in muddy or wet weather.

Designed for single hand operation, TWISTEP™ is quick and easy to use even with sport gear in your hand. You just push in, push down and twist, and TWISTEP™ swivels into place (see photo). When done using it just swivel back under the bumper.

With TWISTEP's solid, large-sized platform to stand on, it's easy for dogs to climb into the vehicle.

TWISTEP functions as a convenient seat at the back of the vehicle to put on sporting equipment like ski boots, wetsuits, or waders - also great for tailgating or camping!.

TWISTEP™ has a non-skid surface, a corrosion-resistant coating, and comes with a 5-year warranty. Optional locking bolts are available to protect against theft. It looks great on any vehicle and has a minimal effect on ground clearance.

TWISTEP is available in 4 models to fit most hitch receivers on most SUVs (An adapter kit is also available for Ford Explorers without hitch receivers). To find the right model for your vehicle see the Application Guide below. You will need to know.the size of your hitch receiver, either 1 1/4" or 2". If you don't already know, just remove any hitch ball or other installed accessory from the receiver and measure the width of the square opening. Then consult the table to find the right model for your vehicle make, model, year, and hitch type. If you do not see your vehicle listed, please email us and we will try to help or contact the manufacture. NOTE: TWISTEP is not recommended for pickup trucks because the tailgate gets in the way - although OT plans to release a model soon for vehicles with fold-down tailgates.

Note that the load bearing capacity of each hitch receiver may vary. 1 1/4" (Class II ) receivers are usually rated for a load of 300 lbs., 2" (Class III) receivers are usually rated for 500 lbs., but you may want to check with the hitch manufacture or owners manual to make sure, especially if you plan to load heavy cargo or apply heavy loads in any way.
